My name is Megan Dwyer, and I am excited to introduce myself as the incoming U of A Rotaract President!
Last year, I served as the Director of Membership alongside an awesome board including President Brooke McKalip, Treasurer (and former President) Kanita Olsen, and Secretary now Treasurer Victor Sandrin. Last year, we had over 30 active members and participated in over 21 service events both on and off campus. I am excited to continue the momentum established before me and foster growth along with my Executive Board.
My freshman year, I joined Rotaract after moving from a small, rural town that was out of state. I was seeking a place to build community, relationships, and purpose. I was drawn to Rotaract’s focus on service, which has been a meaningful part of my life for many years. Through this club, I not only found a welcoming community, but also gained new experiences and perspectives that helped me feel more rooted in both the University of Arizona and the city of Tucson. Being part of Rotaract has introduced me to a new culture of service, leadership, and connection, and I hope that new members find the same sense of community and growth that I did.
This year, the board proposed different overarching themes, and asked the members to have a say in choosing our theme for the year. I am excited to announce that our theme for the 2025-26 Rotaract year is Rooted in Service. Through this theme, we aim to connect with the people and culture of Tucson, and return to the core “why” behind our service. This theme embodies not just participating in service, but getting to know the people involved on a deeper level and grow as leaders and changemakers. UA Rotaract looks to provide a safe and welcoming environment fostered from our shared Rotary values and plant a seed for positive change.
Excited to keep building community and making a difference,
Megan :)
